I was over the moon today when Transworld Publishers gave me permission to use their front cover image of The World of Poo: by Terry Pratchett for my mini book review. Not only that, but they gave me some free advice on picture permissions and a high resolution picture!
I’ve only been blogging a month, and already so many people have been more than willing to let me use their artwork for The Dream Shed. Not only that, but whenever I have asked other, more experienced writers for advice, they’ve shared their learning with abundant enthusiasm.
All I had to do was ask…
That’s not to say it’s a licence to go abusing people’s generosity. It’s important you are first willing to give your knowledge and creativity to others, in whatever teeny capacity that may be, but if you are – who knows what you may get in return.
It’s a kind world out there – why don’t you dish a little kindness out yourself?
